Sweets!Tale follows similar lore to Classic!Undertale & Handplates! Humans waged war on monsters, the humans won, and monsters were sealed underground. Hundreds of years later, a human fell: A child named Chara. The royals' child, Caramel, quickly rushed to the fallen childs' side as they recovered from their fall.
"* Oh, golly! That looked like a mighty hard fall.." The goat child observed. "* Are you okay?"
'Uurgh.. I'm.. I'm okay.. … WOAH! WOAHWOAHWWOAH!' The human quickly scrambled backward, looking up at Caramel. He gasped, and looked around, before realizing the human was scared of him.
"* Hey! Heyhey!- It's okay! It's alright! I don't wanna hurt ya'!" He quickly spoke before taking a step or two closer to the human and offering them his hand. "* I'm Caramel! Cara for short. What about you?"
'I'm.. uh… Chara.' They hesitantly introduced themself, taking hold of the goat's hand and helping themself up. Caramel snickered. "* Chara? You humans sure do give each other funny names!" 'Heyy!' The human playfully elbowed him, and the two children laughed.
"* C'mon! I oughta' introduce you to my parents."
Upon being introduced to them, Coffee and Butterscotch felt an immediate need to care for the human- to take them under their wing as if they were their own. .. And so, they did. They brought Chara to their home, gave them their own room, and showed them around the Underground! Waterfall became a fast favorite of theirs.
Eventually, on one of their adventures, Chara said something none of them expected.
'Hey, mom?'
"* Yes, my child?" Butterscotch glanced down at them.
'.. Can I have a candy name too?'
"* Oh! .. Well, I don't see why not. Do you have anything in mind?"
'Hm.. .. Uh-'
"* What about Toffee?" Caramel chimed in, looking at Chara, then at Butterscotch.
'..What's Toffee?'
"* It's like caramel, but not! And, it sounds like Dad's name."
Butterscotch chuckled. "* That sounds like a wonderful name, my child. But, it's up to your sibling."
"* What do you think?"
'..I love it.'
Caramel cheered, and Butterscotch hummed.
"* Then Toffee it is. I'll let your father know about the change when we return home."
'Sweeet! Thanks, mom!'
"* .. Of course, my child."
