sage was nervous, twiddling with her thumbs as she paused outside the doctor’s door, waiting for julian to meet her there before she walked in. it was their first appointment, it was a pretty big deal and it made it all feel like a new level of real. they hadn’t been waiting long but she didn’t know the doctor they were using, since she’d allowed grace to have input as far as who they went to for their appointments. despite that, though, the aforementioned woman was nowhere to be found and sage assumed julian would be explaining that to her as he approached. she spoke in hushed tones, leaning forward. ‘is everything okay?” she asked as they were ushered into the room and she walked towards the somewhat intimidating machines. 

“I hate you so goddamn much.” he breathed, tugging Charlie over firmly. 

     sage was frantic, continuously glancing at herself in the mirror, waiting for the change to show. it wasn’t like she was going to turn around and suddenly notice a baby bump, it was still too early but she was freaking out nonetheless. “so this is really happening. i’m pregnant. like... with an actual baby. with your baby, which i just said that i’d keep out loud and like,” her eyes widened. “i don’t have the time or energy to look after a baby! and you have, y’know, you’re with someone... and...” she stopped, finally collapsing into a couch. “this feels like a bad tv show plot.”
