I got a flurry of texts yesterday that my name got mentioned at the CedarVille Chapel.  My immediate thought was, sarcastically, ‘i’ve hit the big time’.  Then I went to, ‘why in the world is my name mentioned in a Cedarville Chapel. Turns out Stephen Clark was speaking.  Stephen had served at Chaos his freshman and a bit of his sophomore year.  I remember him distinctly because we would have great parking lot talks about ministry, public speaking, and life.  

His chapel talk centered around grief and ‘suffering with’ and how we as Christians don’t do this well.  he related a story I told him about Robert, his mom being shot at her job, and me sitting with him on the wall, and how I answered ‘i don’t know’ when he asked where God was in this...

It was flattering and good to hear a strong message about what we are doing at Chaos and how a parking lot convo can have an impact.  This text from a friend of mine also summed up and encouraged me regarding the endeavor we know as Chaos

“Dude, you're faithful ministry to those kids influenced Steve enough that over 3000 people know what it means to come alongside someone hurting.”
