so i was talking with @sweet-jae about how this song is more of an “end of summer” song? like we’ve had so many summery songs but now its getting more into the fall so we were on the topic of their relationship and i wrote this essay “like they have the typical summer romance, hot and quick, but as the summer passes they start to think "is this it? will this be the end" but they realize that their summer romance isn't just a fling at all, their feelings run so much deeper than that, and they fall into a slower routine, but their love still burns. its not as hot as in summer, but it burns steadily as ever. the "tomorrow, today" is them talking about the future. in the beginning they're uncertain about the direction they're taking, but as they mv goes on they become more certain in their feelings, realizing that this is real, they really love each other deeply, and the end where they're singing "tell me which way to go" is them putting their trust in each other and leading each other into the winter where they fall deeper into love, and closer together”
