say what you will about attachment and the jedi and how wrong or right it is (i'm not here to discuss that) but at the end of the day the prophecy wasn't fulfilled through non attachment. and luke doing things differently than the previous jedi is a pretty big deal for the story. what destroyed the emperor was the very same parent-child bond the order was disencouraging and that luke would have been barred from having had he been born during the republic.

In a related note, Hayden Christensen freaking nails it as Anakin. Anakin Skywalker as a young adult is a walking pile of traumas in Jedi robes, and his behavior is reflective of that. And Hayden's acting — tone, looks, posture — is reflective of that. He is one hundred percent the troubled young adult who is trying to do his best.
He is freaking excellent.

One of a Jedi’s biggest weakness is that if you duel them with a lightsaber or really anything pole shaped that can stand up to a lightsaber, they mentally sort you into catagory 3 and do not expect you to kick them in the balls, throw sand into their eyes, or spit at their face when dramatically staring at each other
the skywalkers look hilarious next to each other on height comparison chart, but also:
padmé is the tallest skywalker lady with confirmed canon height, closely followed by shmi and mara;
jaina proudly holds the title of the tiniest adult skywalker;
anakin is the tallest skywalker ever, followed by jacen;
(is there a minimal height requirement for the banite sith of the family?);
JAINA AND JACEN’S HEIGHT DIFFERENCE IS 33 CM, THE TOP OF HER HEAD CAN BARELY REACH HIS SHOULDER, THAT'S GREAT;
they are the ultimate tol and smol sweu duo;
out of the three couples, luke and mara have the smallest height difference, just 12 cm 🥺❤;
adult jacen is barely taller than han;
(tall enough to get petty about it though);
luke and 17-ish anakin solo are the same height, but grown up nik would have been 2-3 cm taller;
and therefore no threat to luke's first (from the end) spot on the skywalker men height scale.

It's still Star Wars Day here, and while I ran out of time to shade this, I think the flats and lineart turned out pretty well.
I'll still probably make some tweaks and do some light rendering later this month. I really love seeing how my art has progressed over the years, and I'm excited to see where it ends up next!
