Oh Ya Rab, how I miss the winter nights—
When Your warmth would wrap around me tight,
Tucking me in beneath the sky,
While stars above would testify.
They shone with Noor, so pure and bright,
And in their glow, I felt seen,
I felt heard,
I felt everything would be alright.
I miss those days I longed for the sun,
But now it’s here… I want them undone.
How ungrateful is man—we take and take,
Yet offer little for Your sake.
I seek forgiveness for all I’ve done,
For the battles lost and the wrongs I’ve won.
For the hardened heart I’ve come to know—
Soften it, Ya Rab, and let mercy flow.
I know You’re Forgiving, Compassionate, True—
But I beg of You… don’t test me too.
