If you still need a prompt i've been listening to the original click five cd a lot lately and the song "just the girl" makes me think of swan queen specifically emma singing about regina. if this sounds like a prompt you want to do please do it cause i suck at writing and you have no idea how long ive been listening to this cd recently (like the last couple months at least) thanks in advance!! :)
Honest to god I thought I’d never heard this song and then I looked it up… hello early 2000s. Haha. Turns out I’ve DEFINITELY heard it before. I hope you like what I did with it! :)
“Emma, what’s this?” Regina was holding up Emma’s iPhone with the music app open.
“What’s what?” Emma asked.
“This playlist titled ‘Regina’. What is it?” Regina raised an eyebrow. Emma blushed.
“It’s a playlist of songs that remind me of you,” Emma told her. Regina gave a wicked grin.
“I have a game for you, then,” Regina said, still grinning. Emma cocked her head.
“What did you have in mind?” Emma asked.
“I get to pick a song and you have to sing it to me. If you do, I’ll make sure that tonight is worth it,” Regina purred into Emma’s ear, causing her to shiver.
“And what happens if I don’t?” Emma challenged.
“Then I’ll make sure you’re on dish duty for a month. Henry would be so happy to have a break,” Regina said, smirking.
“Oh, don’t worry. I am not passing this up,” Emma informed her, before pausing, “wait, what song?”
“I’m intrigued by the song Talking Body, but I think I’ll go with this song Just the Girl by some band called The Click Five,” Regina decided.
“Come on! The Click Five, Regina! That song was played on the radio practically every hour! How do you not know that song?” Emma exclaimed.
“Emma, I was stuck in Storybrooke for 28 years waiting for some damn Savior to come break my curse. We didn’t exactly have all the things the rest of the world did, including the radio,” Regina said. “Are you going to sing to me or not?”
“Sing to you? Woman, I’m going to perform for you,” Emma told her. She hurried downstairs and hooked up her iPhone to the speakers. “Regina get down here! I need an audience!” Regina walked down the stairs and Emma started the song, using a hairbrush to sing into.
“She’s cold and she’s cruel but she knows what she’s doing…”
Regina raised an eyebrow, but continued to listen. Emma sang and interacted with Regina and when she got to the chorus she dropped the hairbrush and started to dance with her.
“Cause she’s bittersweet, she knocks me off of my feet, and I can’t help myself I don’t want anyone else // she’s a mystery, she’s too much for me, but I keep coming back for more // she’s just the girl I’m looking for…”
Regina laughed as Emma spun her around. Emma continued to perform dramatically until the end of the song. She then took a low bow. Regina clapped and kissed her cheek.
“I approve of that song,” Regina said, “however the verse about not being able to keep a secret seems more appropriate for your mother.”
“Hey, songs can’t all be perfect,” Emma told her, shrugging.
“That is true,” Regina agreed, “your performance was quite entertaining. However, I am still thinking about that other song. It was tie between the two when I was picking a song.”
“We can listen to that one when you deliver my prize later,” Emma replied with a wink.
