Happy Song - Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir
Well, I’ve got everything I need in the backseat of my car,
I got those CDs that you like, with all those songs we sang last night, and I got you.
And sometimes, you frown; Sometimes, you look scared, well, I am too.
I’m scared that no one will be there, I’m scared that no one really cares when it gets rough.
And I’d love for you to stay; But how do you feel?
I’d love for you to say just how you feel before you walk away.
A long night had been spent with the Finn, drinking and sharing stories and generally catching up with one another. As much as Fannar had loved his time with the Finn, to actually have some company and not be forced to sit in his old house, alone- It seemed it was time to leave. Honestly, the Icelander had to admit- It was a little saddening.
He’s in the middle of saying his goodbyes when the Icelander’s gaze drops to the floor, and after a moment, he peers up to the Finn with violet hues that glimmered as though he’d had an idea. And so he had, it seemed, as the Icelander quite quickly grasped the Finn’s, before he spoke up again.
"Why don’t you come with me? We could— Hm. Maybe we could go travelling, for a bit."
The idea sounds silly, and he knows it; His gaze drops quite quickly, but his grip remains nonetheless. “If you’d like to, I mean.”
