This is a very nice, high quality mounting plate. It's great for setting on a tabletop and doing macro photography. You can also put it on the ground for shots where you need to get low. I somehow always seem to find myself awkwardly stooped or lying on my belly for everything from landscapes to weddings, and it's a struggle to hold the camera steady. This will certainly come in handy. It also comes with straps, so you can attach it to high places as well, such as tree branches or railings where you can't take or balance a tripod. And it is flat, so it's no problem finding a spot for it in your camera bag. My dad has been playing with this also, and he gives it 5 stars too. In fact, he was kind enough to talk about it for my video. Hopefully the video will cover anything you're curious about. Overall, this is a great product and we're happy with it and would recommend it.
