Please know that Sussy's caregivers are giving it their all to try and help Sussy recover from her devastating distemper virus diagnosis. Although things are not looking good right now, they are not ready to throw in the towel just yet, and we are supporting them in this decision. We ask that you support our rescue partners as well. They have requested assistance with providing hospitalization for Sussy for 20 more days, with 5 additional therapy sessions. Sussy will continue with her acupuncture, massage therapy and physiotherapy. Although Sussy needs assistance to get around, she is still eating and drinking on her own. Repost @newyorkbullycrew Sussy • Our sweet Sussy has suffered a terrible setback. Although she has not been able to walk in the past few days, she was still able to stand and support herself. Unfortunately, she has now lost all function in her hind legs. Sussy is stressed and confused as to what is happening to her. Her seizures have subsided a bit with the anticonvulsant medication she is taking, but she is now experiencing full body tremors. Due to the severity of Sussy's symptoms, time is of the essence in determining a diagnosis. We do not believe that the paralysis and tremors are associated with whatever is causing her skin condition, and we are also now unsure if her symptoms have anything to do with her recent spay surgery that she was recovering from. Sussy is undergoing additional tests including blood, urine, cellular and neurological testing. Please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts as her veterinary team works to find some answers.
