hi pretty lady how you feeling today?
I ate this delicious pasta but my stomach didnāt fuck with it
I am not
and your are not
WE ARE VERY NOTTY
This weekās Motto and Mantra
Itās not all bad: how I survive
So far my survival tips include, but are not limited to:
drinking lots of water
this may or may not be obvious but it is an excellent way to appear healthy (and actually be healthy because water = essential) while also creating a need to get up a leave your desk.Ā
the more you drink, the more you have to pee. thus the more you have to get up and leave your desk to walk to the bathroom thus avoiding taking more calls and talking to anyone.Ā
thatās a triple win folks: healthy, avoiding work, alone time!
drinking lots of tea
this tip is a repeat of the above explanation but it includes caffeine!!! which is huge because I have to be awake earlier than I want to and I canāt form coherent sentences without theĀ
bringing breakfast and lunch
this one is fairly straightforward: saves me money and is delicious. and when Iām well fed, it is easier for me to be kind and patient at work
avoiding hanger at all costs.Ā
nutrient-dense foods to help with the feeling like Iām slowly dying.
snacks
see above explanation. but being hangry is real folks.
snacks include nuts, fruit, nothing processedĀ
although sometimes I forget and eat vending machine SunChips. sue me for not being perfect.
headphones
perfect for ignoringĀ coworkers in the break room and having control over the noises in your environment. music is therapy people!
hibiscus tulsi tea
if you do not know the calming effects of tulsi, you are missing out. look it up. adaptogenic herb that is useful with regulating stress responses.Ā
hibiscus is delicious. itās flowery, yet fruity, and when steeped in water and set out to infuse in the sun for a few days, it produces a deliciousĀ tea that tastes like fruit juice.
the two combined are a match made in taste-bud heaven. I add some orange peels and a little bit (1 tsp) of simple syrup (homemade of course) and BAM you have healthy ājuiceā that creates the perfect flavors for an afternoon pick-me-upĀ
vitamins
Vitamin D 10,000 i.u. (translates to 5 a day) -- important in climates that donāt get a lot of sun, and relates to a wide variety of issues, great for mood
get that vitamin d any way you can ;)Ā
tulsi capsules 2 a day --explained above, adatogenic herb; I like Organic India brand
ashwaganda 2 a day -- adaptogenic herb, helps with energy; I like organic India brandĀ
walking to work
exercise and endorphins. because duh.Ā
also combats sitting 8-10 hours a day
is helpful when you have to be inside the majority of the day
movement!!!
the downside is that you can get really wet walking to work, then your locker is too small for your wet clothes, and you pull out your raincoat to walk home only to find it is still wet and itās not able to get aired out to dry during your very long shift at work. then everything else in your locker is wet. and you ask yourself why you even bothered to try.Ā
As always, a dose of inspiration mixed with my slightly twisted reasons for doing them. enjoy!
