I saw this piece while I was pregnant and immediately fell in love. I felt so connected to it! • But we live in such a small space (about 500 square feet with limited open wall space) that I didn’t think much beyond “oh I’m so in love with this piece”. • Then, during one of the visits from our midwives after giving birth, I showed everyone the photo of it and we all swooned all over it. • Later that day, Nate decided to get it for us as a birthday gift (Lumi and I share a birthday)!!! • After it arrived, I matted and framed it. And then it sat. While life happened (and we tried to find and make a place for it). • And then finally, after 6 months of it tucked away safely in a corner, we made a space and hung it up. • And I am still so in love with it. I can look at it all day because it is in the center of our living space. An amazing focal point. And a beautiful reminder of my beautiful little baby that grew inside of me and is now outside of me growing too fast, just the way she should be. • What I find I love even more about it is that it really connects me to my pregnancy, now. This is extra special because I was miserable (read: EXTREMELY sick for pretty much the whole thing) and hated being pregnant.
