I am beyond excited! I am proud to announce to everyone that yesterday I became the new United States Visually Impaired Surfing Champion! It was a close heat, but I never gave up. Much love to everyone from Guardian Quest Martial Arts, my home dojo, and all of my training partners and teachers at @studio540 , especially @joeljitsu and the #surfight crew. You guys kept me fit and and mentally tough going into one of the toughest 30 minutes of my life! Also, mad thanks to @tiffanytimebomb and everyone from Muay Thai for the encouragement and experience staying light on my feet while maintaining solid posture. Of course, I wouldnt’ have been able to do it without the help of @coachpatweber of the San Diego Surfing Academy. He taught me how to surf, and was with me, spotting waves and shouting encouragement and solid advice throughout the entire competition. Finally, I need to thank the love of my life, @aloya319 , who stood by my side and was my strongest ally in this entire endeavor. And lest I forget, I want to thank God for creating something as beautiful and awesome as the ocean. What a wonderful and dangerous playground! There were more people who helped along the way but you want to see pictures, not read novels.
