Tutorial how to brush with various image like that please. I only know how to 1 image 7 the setting doesn't stay
This is for Clip Studio Paint (I don’t know if Photoshop can do this)
1) Prepare the images you wanna use as brush mats (background must be transparent). With the image layer selected go to Edit > Register Material > Image.
2) Tick ‘Use for brush tip shape’. Put in a search tag so you can look it up easier later
3) Duplicate any tool
4) Open the brush settings (wrench icon) of your new duplicate brush
5) Go to Brush tip > Tip shape (Material) > Add New Material (paper icon)
6) You can look up your custom material from earlier with the search tag u set
7) Add/rearrange as many as you want and play around with ur new brush
Is spark holding a bouquet of marigolds.............................
yea
Hey Surfi! How’s everything going? I’ve been thinking about getting into digital art, but I am a little bit lost. What would you recommend to a complete beginner equipment-wise? I.e tablet/iPad, software. Ps. Love your art! Can’t wait for the next Ash update!
Caveat: I’ve never used a tablet other than Wacom-made (other than testing stuff at shows)
Maybe you can get a secondhand Wacom Bamboo? You can also look into Huion / Xp-pen / Monoprice if it’s out of your price range. You don’t need the fancy stuff when you start out, I started out with wacom’s entry level model at the time.
If you’re a complete beginner you’ll need to develop the hand-monitor coordination that a non-screen tablet requires. Some people never get comfortable with this and they need screen graphics tablets, but these are expensive (compared to non screen ones). I prefer non screen ones because I can work for longer before stuff starts to hurt, but it may be different for you.
Software wise you can look at Medibang, Krita, or Sketchbook. It doesn’t really matter much if you’re just starting out, you just need to learn common digital art stuff like layers, blending modes, clipping masks etc. Stay away from smudge tools until you know what you’re doing.Â
Do you wanna see the first thing I ever drew on my tablet?Â
It sucks, but well at least I got started. So don’t get discouraged if you suck at first, you’re gonna suck less over time if you keep at it
Any followers who wanna chime in for beginner anon? Leave a comment below an stuff.
how to go from this
to full drawingÂ

Hey Surfi have you ever used Krita for painting? If yes, how does it compare with the basic version of Clip Studio Paint? Krita has met my needs nicely but I'm wondering if CSP has any outstanding features.
Hey! No, I haven’t used Krita before, sorry! Maybe someone who follows me can answer you (please comment below).
As an aside, I’m gonna shill for Clip Studio Paint lol - they’re having a 50% off sale until the 18th. PRO is 25USD, EX is 109USD http://www.clipstudio.net/en
idk if other programs have this built in but the EX version has this
handy yea
Hiiiiiiii just wanted to tell you how much I love your art style, specially the effort you put into the pokemon go comics. I wanted to ask for advice regarding programs for digital art and what kind of drawing pad you use. Thank you!!!!
Yo, I use a medium Wacom Intuos 5 Pen&Touch and a Razer Tartarus (for the shortcuts) on PC. I also have a 12.9 iPad Pro and Pencil 1 when I draw outside/abroad/in bed/couch/fridge
I use Clip Studio Paint exclusively for artwork on both PC and iOS.Â
^this holiday art was done completely on the iPad, but around 90% of the time I finish stuff on my Intuos
Hello! I hope you're having a good day. I was wondering , what kind of program did you use to make that gif ?
it’s Clip Studio Paint.Â
If ya want a free alternative I used Pencil2D a couple of years back for this gif
