“Come on Tiger, calm down” MJ says to Peter as she helps him shave away his five o’clock shadow as the older male is deep in thought— Peter Benjamin Parker was an intelligent man, very intelligent— just not with dates and apparently Spanish class where he got a big fat C-.

Soft hands run through his hair, the soft gentle strokes helping him get pulled out his mental space making him see his surroundings again. Right now he was sitting in a chair with MJ in front of him, those blue eyes watching his face with understanding. “What if it goes bad?” Peter finally says, giving his first love an unsure look as the redhead shaves his upper lip making some of the shaving cream go into Peter's mouth making him grimace. MJ hands him a tissue as she sticks the razor into a bowl of water making the specks of hair swirl into the liquid- Peter wiping his mouth.

“You’re thinking too hard about it Pete”

“I know— it’s just, it’s been so long since I’ve actually asked someone on a date and they actually said yes— aside from you of course— what were you thinking?— I should probably cancel, right? Yeah this was a bad idea— besides I’m too old to even be—.”

MJ covers her Bestfriends mouth.

“Slow down there Tiger, one, I went out with you at the time cause I loved you and still love you, two this isn’t a bad idea. You like Miguel— which is why you asked him on a date and he said yes— and no one is too old to date and be nervous” she spoke calmly, using her other hand to soothe him by playing with his hair.

“Peter, I want you to be happy. You deserve this chance and to embrace it. If Parker luck gets in the way. I got your back. Okay?”

Peter stares up at her, nodding silently.

“Good boy, now then let’s finish you up so you can use that Goober and go, and if anything fun happens I want to know every detail— AH!” MJ squeaks when Peter's arms wrap around her waist standing from the chair and throwing her over his shoulder, both parties laughing.
