Beauty Pageant, Miss RD Congo 2016

The search for a newly crowned Queen to represent Democratic Republic of Congo is into the finale week, with winner announced 10 September 2016.

Here are a few quick facts:

1.After decades of absence, this beauty pageant is back with a new look and feel

2. Instead of a 3-hour standardized gala evening format to choose the winner, an innovate 10 weeks of reality style TV show format is used, with different tasks and challenges each week.

3. The theme is “Beauty that changes the world” and the idea is to choose an accomplished young woman who can represent the DRCongo as an ambassador of Congolese values and culture.

4.A broad audience is reached via TV and digital platforms, with an opportunity to “have your own say” via voting.

5.The new beauty queen will represent the DRC at International Beauty pageants starting with Miss World.

6. The hope and the aim is to restore the image of the Great Congo and promote Congolese Culture and Fashion, with the countries designers and other artists included.
