Hey peeps, I might come back to this one because it is one dear to my heart. Now , it's just a glimpse to it. Looking into the fashion media, i am just amused as the western world see our fabric. It's colourful, vibrant, fashion and sometimes you will think as it is the same as @desigual or any other brand of the same kind. In another post , I will talk about the difference of material of the wax, because like any material we have different degree of fabrication. But my main point to it , it's the history brought to it. My mum when she used to sell it, she could the name of every new print. Yes, any pieces coming out will have a name. For example, one will be called "the river falling out" or "the piercing eyes" . And if you look carefully the prints , you could see a whole story. Maybe , it is African tradition, but for the African women , it is highly symbolical .it represent a time in the history, a war , anything that goes through the eyes of the women. Who design it? I don't know yet, but it is part of my heritage, and it is my duty to learn.
