The side entrance to the Superman building. No, really, it's what they call it. The tallest building in Providence, Rhode Island. Sadly: The city seems to own it & can't find anyone to move in for many years. The city is trying to nice it up a little to entice someone to move in but funds are low, so the work is coming along painstakingly slow. I miss hosting the Feminist and Queer Happy Hour! This one of the last I hosted, in August 2019 at Saint Monday. The second picture is me with a number of the hosts I handed the FQHH over to so they could take over once I moved to Belfast. Unfortunately both the Boston and the Providence monthly happy hour are no longer, but I hope to kick one off here in Belfast or possibly Dublin.
Unfortunately Saint Monday isn't open anymore, but it was a cool concept, coffee shop by day and bar at night. It was never a vegan paradise, but they were always supportive of our happy hours. It was certainly one of those places where I usually ate beforehand and then got the sides (olives and fries anyone?) to snack on during the happy hour.
Side note, please look at this amazing dress on Daria. The dress features the Providence superman building. The historic building is part of what makes Providence, Providence. It has also been a total drama.
