In terms of Marvel films, I definitely wouldn't recommend Thor:Ragnarok or Thor:Love and Thunder, they're more in the category where you mentioned beating them with a hammer and have their emotional moments almost murdered by the need to be comedic.
Thor and Thor:Dark World however, are a more darker tone, with comedy but they definitely let the emotional moments *be* emotional, Thor:Dark World is definitely my favourite MCU film to date and I'd recommend both!!
Saw Thor; wasn't a fan. Maybe it was too Aliens for my taste? Like I know they're Norse gods kind of, but they're technically aliens. it was over a decade ago, so I forget the specifics of why I didn't like it
also Loki stans have made my favorite movie/primary fandom's tags (Crimson Peak) a mess every time some new piece of media with him comes out, and often watch the movie in the worst faith possible just to see Hiddles Ass and have ice-cold takes about the female leads- the core of the movie. so I have a bit of a grudge, I admit
Superhero in 60's comic: Jack Anjil was chopping a tree when a truck of chemicals crashed and spilled on him. This caused him to be fused together with his axe. He is now Lumberjack. Same character by modern day: A cosmic force known as the Tool shed which connects everyone with tool based powers made that chemical spill happen because it chose for Jack to be fused with his axe.
So there's people on TikTok talking about "the Mount Rushmore of superheros" and the first post talking about it had Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and Wonder Woman. And now people are talking about why Wonder Woman doesn't deserve to be up there which is, make no mistake, pure sexism.
But like... Most of the other superheroes they want to put up there are like... Iron Man or the Hulk.
Like, I'm sorry but if we're being honest the only other person with a real claim to that spot is probably Sailor Moon and I will not be taking criticism.

Me when the villain isn't killed in most movies: Well that was disappointing. Pretty anti climatic. They did so many bad things and didn't even get an epic death?
Me when the villain isn't killed off in a superhero comic movie: YES! HALLELUJAH MOTHERFUCKER! PRAISE THE LORD! THEY CAN BE A RECURRING VILLAIN! THEY ACTUALLY LIKE THE COMICS!
Superhero adaptations be like
In season 2 of Purple Plumber the writers wanted to include Purple Plumber's ally from the comics Kink King. They weren't allowed to use Kink King because of plans for a Kink King movie (that never happened).
So the writers just used another character Freaky Face and heavily reimagined him to make him more like King Kink.
