Let’s face it there will come a day when an AGI (artificial general intelligence) will be able to do anything a human can do. After this happens it will only improve into super AGI. The AI companies will eventually have all businesses using there tech in some way or another. The tech will be cheaper and more effecient than humans. So how do we prevent the outcome where everyone is on UBI (universal basic income) and there are no opportunities left for our future generations?

There has to be an incentive and opportunity for people to look forward to participating in the rise of super AGI. The best way I see this happening is if everyone has the ability as a human right to either own or invest in the creation of the skilled robots or software that will replace them.

So, instead of the UBI for life future, you will be able to pay the company or companies that develop AGI and super AGI to own a robot or software that will make you money doing the work you, or someone else, used to do. For example it might cost $5k to buy a robot that earns $10k a year doing entry level construction work. While a higher paying skill might cost more. So a robot that costs $35k might have the skill to be an engineer and earn $70k a year. On the software side you could buy an AGI software for $200k that can do all worldwide accounting and government compliance tasks and make you $500k a year replacing a whole accounting team of some global business. Of course the prices will vary company to company, and the Tech company that builds the AGI will probably get a percentage of the income, but you get the idea.

What jobs will people do to make the initial investment you ask? The only jobs left will be tech related most likely. Most people will either help program / maintain the robots and help the AGI maintain it’s data bases or do cyber security work(not only keeping out hackers, but also making sure the super AGI doesn’t decide to take over the world). Other than that it will probably be saving some of your UBI until you can buy a low level robot and then buy more and more.

There must either be law in place so everyone can participate at every income level. Or there will have to be at least 100 different AGI companies in actual competition for customers to drive prices lower. Because if left only to the market and a few AGI companies that agree to not actually compete. The rich will make it impossible for the poor to buy any bot or software the prices will be too high. You would only be able to own a bot if you were rich. That can’t happen because once again that would leave all poor people no opportunity except for living on UBI for life.
