I just watched Across The Spider-Verse and oh my god, it was incredible! The animation was like watching an entirely new art form, it was even more beautiful than the first movie! The angles, the shots of NYC (nothing has made me miss living there more), the 'camerawork', it was breathtaking but the best part was the representation of diverse identities from multiple characters, my all-time favorite being SunSpider, who I was looking forward to seeing, once I realized she was in the movie (with lines!) and when I did see her, I was smiling so widely that my jaw ached! For those who don't know, SunSpider is a disabled Spiderperson originally designed by disabled comics artist, Dayn Broder (their twitter), then transformed into a fully fleshed out queer disabled character by black queer disabled artist, Tee Franklin (their twitter), and voiced in the movie by Dominican LGBT disabled actress, Danielle Perez (her twitter)! Also, Toast on TikTok does some amazing SunSpider cosplay (their video)! Seeing SunSpider was an absolute highlight in an already incredible movie! I'd highly recommend it to anyone but please take COVID precautions and sadly I'd recommend avoiding if you have photosensitivity as there are many strobe-esque moments.

Dashiell! A sun spider. A very old oc of mine that actually started as a Soulrock gijinka. They may be a spider now but they'll never stop the mad pursuit of science :] Bonus note: my Sunspider anthros have an additional set of arms located at their waste. Anatomy wise its so funny to think about the pectoral plates located over the crotch ill have to do a drawing of what my mind thinks it looks like later.
