“Would you believe me if i said wrong place, wrong time?”
Sokol sucks on his teeth, heavily annoyed and wanting nothing more than to just go back to his cot and sleep, having only awoken in the middle of the night to take a piss. Instead, he’s back-seating some hacker shit unfolding itself in real time.
Considering the safe house’s security was pretty much spaghetti-thin, something like this was honestly bound to happen eventually. It’s a hilarious irony, considering the place belonged to a house completely full of thieves.
Any other time, and Sokol probably would’ve laughed at the sheer absurdity of it. It's not unlike that scene of that kids chef movie he'd watched, where the little rat was caught cooking-- except this rat didn't even have the decency to look panicked.
The sharp, metallic click of the safety comes off as he prods the muzzle of his gun, still warm from the press of his skin, right into the hacker’s nape.
“What are you doing?” It’s severe, hushed, though it lacked any real bite to it. As though he’d just caught Jimmy downloading some kind of highly questionable content.
