“Sunny C”

So my first impression is that it smells like floor cleaner. There are about a thousand ingredients in this one little bag, so that could explain why there are layers to the stink I’m getting. The first ingredient is apple, but carrots and pink peppercorn are also listed. Odd combo, David. Apparently there is vitamin C in this bad boy. My immune system could probs use it. Ottawa is looking very tundra today and I’m not trying to get sick before Christmas.

I just put the bag in and the water immediately turns this dark red colour and I am immediately concerned this will stain my teeth and make me look like a beet boy so I remove the bag. I have no idea what ingredients are making it do this. Could it be the safflower blossoms? WTF IS SAFFLOWER and why would it make my tea look like a cup of blood. I’m disturbed.

Oh God it’s sour. The first sip was so alarming. But it leaves an interesting after taste... I don’t hate it, but I’m certainly not enjoying it. I can’t tell if the initial shocking taste is worth the aftertaste, which is only all right... Who knows what could have been if I let it steep longer. It makes my jaw tighten when I drink it. You know that feeling when you eat a War Head and your mouth is like NOOOO. That’s what’s happening. I mean, I’m already halfway done the mug. My motivation is the Vitamin C and the bizarrely addictive aftertaste.

I feel like I have known you my whole life, and you always manage to brighten up my day.
