He’d slept like the dead. Ten full hours, striaght through, and he hadn’t so much as moved. Usually, he would’ve been grateful for the long stretch of sleep, but there was the catch: he’d slept on the damn couch, fallen asleep without realizing it while watching the news the night before, his feet dangling off the edge, as it was more of a love seat, really.
And at the sound of them moving about, mixed with the sun streaming in through the bay window that lined the east-facing wall of the apartment, he started awake like he was being risen from the dead, and looked around, trying to figure out how he’d ended up there in the first place, trying to find RIley amidst the messy excuse for a living room.
