curating your dash

curating your dash is important! if you’re at a loss for what to post or how to go about introducing wips and characters, looking at what other people are doing/current writeblr trends can help a lot. when you create a writeblr intro you a) find new people to follow who share your genre interests and b) gain a small starting following that will interact with your first few posts and get your work seen. 

interact!

treat people as you would like to be treated! people who interact with other blogs more usually get more interaction in turn. you will make friends who you can bounce ideas off of, be introduced to more content, and have more people see your work. also it’s just really fun to have friends! joining discord servers or other groups is an easy way to make friends and get your work reblogged

know your tags

tagging in the writeblr is very important to get your work seen. only the first five tags will come up in tracked tags, so for important posts like intros, make sure to use the big tags like writeblr or wip intro. any tags after the first five will work for when you’re searching for something. ex. your second tag is ‘writeblr’. if i am following that tag, it will come up on my dash. your seventh tag is ‘ya fantasy’ and when i scroll through the ‘ya fantasy’ tag your post will come up. i also heard somewhere that using a lot of tags makes your post show up less, idk how true that is but usually keep your tags on original posts to under twenty.

it’s also useful to have a good personal tagging system so that people can find your posts easily. for example, having a specific tag for a certain wip or character will help people find your work easier. better yet, create a masterpost for each wip (although this is kind of tedious work so it’s optional).

rivals: i just.... [goes incoherently crazy and stupid] i’ve waxed poetic about my love for rivals many MANY times before and i don’t want to bore you with a rehash jfalkfjskd, so let me just say for now: Rivals Good. Self Actualisation Through The Other Good. 

enemies to lovers: again a topic that i have banged on and on about a LOT, but its a dynamic that truly never gets old for me fjalkfsjdkl (mind you it has to be done well... the conflict has to be deep rooted and believable, and the instant it veers into abuse i am. VERY much out of there)

(childhood) friends to lovers: its so sweet.... knowing each other like the back of your hand, being the most important person in each other’s lives but still having that flash of “what if this ruins our friendship, i don’t want things to change?” doubt..... take my money.jpg

obnoxious flirt/Over It (but secretly not): a very specific dynamic that i absolutely adore jfalkfsjlk... bonus points if someone goes up to the Over It party and is just like “boy it must be hard having to deal with Obnoxious Flirt all the time huh??” and Over It being like “... no i actually really enjoy it” 

everyone can see it (except for them): this one drives me crazyyyyyyy but in the best way!!!! its just like good LORD you are so obvious.... and so stupid.... get together already before i lose 10 years off my life!!!!!

yes i am <3 it's finally chilled out after a few moments where i was like FUCK DO I HAVE TO GO TO URGENT CARE (it's 11pm now, started around 12:45-1pm). my twin said he was going to kill me because of 1) the anaphylaxis, and 2) the decision to lay in the tub (not laying down laying down but scrunched up to be more certain i wouldn't slip under, head tilted back, etc) after having taken a benadryl (don't do that either).

which is like, yeah, i get an allergic reaction to bananas every time i eat them but 1) that happens with citrus fruits and also apples, and 2) i just wanted fruit and based on my previous interactions with bananas I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS GOING TO BE ANAPHYLAXIS ANAPHYLAXIS. I JUST GET HIVES ON MY TONGUE AND MOUTH. (which is mild anaphylaxis but this was on another level, as evidenced by the fact that i had to take a benadryl instead of just going "goddamnit, i have to stop doing that" and then walking it off. my dad does this with his yeast allergy (which he discovered not long ago either, and he's in his 40s) too so clearly i come by it naturally.)

anyways i got to watch atlantis: the lost empire and chilled the fuck out. i was trying to watch bring it on and also scream but had no fucking luck with peacock so i was like FUCK IT ATLANTIS TIME because phoebe was kind enough to tag me in a gifset i have yet to rb.
