I so forgot to answer this and I am so sorry!
So since this meme means talk about whatever and I am doing my best not to have this become a Naruto Headcanon Blog (Tenten deserved better Rock Lee is the best)
So for some actual college/university things:
I was a law student for 3 years before I got into therapy and noticed it did not make me happy at all (i had a very eye-opening internship and if you ever think the drama from courtshows is fake and overacted let me tell you, oh gosh, it is suprisingly accurate). Afterwards I spent a year in therapy and a year abroad and then enrolled into American Studies/German Literature and just...I don’t know, felt so happy and so nervous.
I think there’s always this pressure to succeed that one forces oneself to - I have friends who quit things, friends who also like me decided to stop after almost being done with their education because it made them feel so scared and burned out but when it came to me I always felt I was “not allowed” to quit.
And now I am just incredibly happy to have done this. Even more, I think had I went into American Studies/German Literature before law, before therapy and before America, I would not be in the position to read texts as I do now and to enjoy what I am learning at university. So, while people often say it is completely fine to start a new thing no matter where you are, I’d like to s ay it is also alright to stop something even if you did that for a very long time. Quitting law made me hapy. Quitting piano lessons made me happy. If you are chasing a former passion just out of responsibility and not out of joy, do not be afraid to say “maybe I should stop”.
