you can always tell if somethings a rarepair because the only posts in the tag are either 4 years old or made by one person. 😔 im the only one feeding raisune nation anymore

i have a lot of raisune thoughts.... I mean, i know not a lot of people ship it anymore but i really think more people should at least look into it. yeah, otasune is really good but raisune has a lot of merit too. maybe not a lot in mgs2 if youre only counting "canon"/cutscene interactions but theres some funny stuff. like, pliskin telling raiden to not bother him, but he still picks up the codec and responds to raiden if you call him. raiden clearly looks up to snake, too, and my favourite raisune trope is "i dont want to be you anymore, i want to be with you" they have similar trauma, and they clearly make each other confident and comfortable (as of mgs4). snake's stress lowers whenever raiden's with him, which is a good show of the closeness and trust they have in each other. i like rairose and otasune both on their own, but raisune is kinda... it's an underrated gem, imo, especially in recent years. snake and raiden both felt pretty alone in their experiences-- being molded into someone else they werent, awful childhoods, not really knowing anything, and theyre both pretty fucking autistic. there's a lot they have in common, and a lot they don't. it makes them a really alluring pairing. ahhggggg.
