EoN:The Weakness of Modern Science
Today, we face a massive catastrophe. We are all aware of it to some degree, just looking at the price of any natural, healthy foods will alarm you. We have essentially abandoned nature, and now it is rearing its beautiful, yet disfigured head towards us.
Science claims not to understand much of the world, and this is true, in a very literal sense. But, over the last couple millenia, humanity has amassed an incredible amount of knowledge, of all kinds of random things. With the size of the internet, and the ease of communication, you would imagine that science would be growing uncontrollably right now, with groundbreaking innovations being showed off to inspired masses, intent on being a part of the revolution of humanity.
To my great dismay, this cannot happen. It is simply, too much. Too much negativity has pooled in the minds of man, for us to envision a better world. Scientists often hold the creative spark to bridge the factual, with the abstract. Clearly, this is the next step for science, as we face many questions which totally defy traditional understanding. We need a scientific revolution, but not in a technological sense. We have all the technology that Earth can provide. What we need, is a true intellectual revolution. Where science can unify, creatively combine ancient knowledge with modern science, and make discoveries that change everything.
Our world is supported by scientists and technology, the only people and things capable of creating the complex infrastructure we revel in. They should be the ones leading the way, along with artists. Culturally, and policy-wise. The biggest weakness of modern science, is that it has forfeited all power to those with much different and less progressive intentions. We became obsessed with the obvious, and began to lose grasp of the things that truly drive innovation. The unknown.
Will we survive, or pay for the sins of our recent ancestors? That, is your decision. I cannot make you happy, all I can do is provide the tools for you to forge your own version of happiness.
Elysium&Nirvana: I’ve found it in my mind and heart, and now I bring it to you. Life is not black and white. It is the full spectrum of color, and a blindness to that fact leads to bleak greyness. Don’t be afraid.
