Sun Stripes - Another Day
The word “lazy” typically carries a rather negative connotation, but I don’t always see it that way. Some people like to have a semblance of control over their lives, and if that manifests itself as a day relaxing in the sun, so be it. The line “I can’t find a way/to wait for another day” really stuck out to me in “Another Day”, the newest single from dream pop outfit Sun Stripes. Speaking of a failed relationship, the subject in question is in fact the lazy one, as they do not have the words to say. This message is filtered through a backdrop of simple but effective guitar pop, and the interplay between the track’s mood and subject is interesting to hear.
