No matter where she scouted, there was no sign of the device which would assist in deactivating the storm, which had grown unimaginably violent so quickly. It was terrifying. There was the genuine fear it might rip the remainder of the city apart.
But the words which resonated through the skies before the second wave rushed in that worried her.
“They said scientists their own are within the city. Do you think they might be waiting for us to find them where the source of ending this lies?”
It was thought spoken aloud to a nearby stranger, under the impression that all in the city were experiencing the very same storm. But perplexed at how they were behaving within its radius, when it was ripping apart broken buildings and displacing so much in just a matter of its first hour or two.
“I do hope this city lasts and survives this awful string of events”.
