Doubling Signups with One Question

tl;dr: The first condition in both expriments is a regular “join our list” page take over (actually its the same expriment broken into mobile/desktop, since sometimes users behave differently on each) . Conditions “B” and “C” have a “minor” change compared to condition “A”, they first display an emotional question and if the user replies Yes (and for this experiment also if she replies no)…

If you’re a regular here or a new friend I’d like to congratulate you because these past few days have been record breaking:

That’s right, 1,500+ were on the website yesterday! 

Before the 24th, I’d barely broken 300 people on the website in a day and on thanksgiving I was able to give thanks for some actual serious traffic on the website! And look at the blog posts that did it:

Archer, Peanuts and Bob’s Burgers, with a little twitter commentary on the side. It’s just crazy and I’m so excited. Though, between this and the thanksgiving food, I’ve let a lot of my freelance jobs go by the wayside because I’m just obsessively looking at google analytics 24/7(though these screenshots are from sumo.me and they’re fantastic you should use them) - so I’m gonna try to chill so I can get some more work done. BUT THIS IS SO EXCITING AND THANK YOU. 

How did this happen?

reddit. I used reddit. This is a message- if you want to write about something, find a subreddit that you can post it in. Follow the rules, don’t be a dick and maybe don’t read into the comments too much sometimes. 

November 24th is when I really hardcore started posting on there. I also added one blog post to stumble upon and I seem to be getting teeny tiny amounts of traffic from there too. It’s exciting though. 

I posted the Archer post both in r/archer and r/cocktails and I have to admit I didn’t realize that the recipes I got from the food network channel were just awful and I know that now. 

Bob’s Burgers was only in the r/bobsburgers, Peanuts was in r/peanuts and r/movies. The oh joyce one actually was one of my firsts and didn’t bring that crazy amounts of traffic but was posted in r/offbeat. The place that I discovered that reddit advertising could be a thing was the css/tumblr post I posted in r/web_design.
