So this just happened, Ayra was released in a banner of her own, as opposed to being shoved in a banner with all the other new characters. Why does this even matter? Well, it's cuz your chances of getting her are going to be significantly slimmer.

These are the rarity percentages. For every full set of characters you summon, this percentage goes up by a little. Meaning that you're gonna have to try to select other colored heroes just to raise your chances for getting Ayra.

Cool, so you'll just do that, right? Well, no. Here's the problem, anytime you pull a 5 star, whether that be the focus character or not, these percentage are all reset. Meaning that all that hard work you put in? Well, you better hope you get an Ayra as your first 5 star.

Now, getting a full set of heroes cost at LEAST 20 orbs, which means if you wanna raise your chances of getting Ayra, you gotta spend some cash. Most players don't have more than 20 orbs to spend between banners.

One top of this, Eldigan is also in this banner, giving you 2 Five ☆ reds, better pray you don't get him, or your chances will also be reset.

Also, seeing as how your chances of getting a useless 3 or 4 star character is significantly higher, and ALSO increases, have fun getting useless characters.

On top of that, she's a bonus character. Seliph isn't. He's the main character of the Tempest Trials. Yeah. All those characters that you get for basically free? They're only 20% bonus characters.

Here's the Tempest Trial character we got instead, who has no interesting new skills or weapons to offer besides "Follow-up Ring," which is not inheritable. He's a brave sword user, has drive speed, and buckler. I dunno, maybe this guy was a dream come true for some. If so, lucky you?

Conclusion:

At the end of the day, it's a game. It doesn't really matter. However, the reason why lots of people are upset about this is because IS was blatantly trying to rake in some cash for a fairly popular character, especially among older players. I mean, it's not news, they're a company. Companies want money, it just makes sense.

Regardless, many players have wasted tons of orbs and cash trying to get this single character, and I'd personally advise against it. It isn't really worth it, you would literally only be relying on luck.
