" so, tell me about her... i mean, if you're up for it, of course. "
@summoners-path - Jecht was being so open and honest here, I feel like it had to come after he gave up drinking and started being a little more brutal with himself about how badly he fucked up. Otherwise, this wouldâve been a vastly different story heâd tell here.
Her. Braska doesnâteven have to specify who he means, Jecht knows the only her he could be talking about, and hedidnât realize it until right then, but this is actually difficult to thinkabout. Not just because he lost her, but because their relationship wasnâtexactly founded on the most solid of foundations. Would he think less of himbecause of it? Well, the facts are the facts, and Jecht hasnât exactly beenknown to make the most sound of decisions. He sighs softly, runs his handthrough his hair. Dark eyes briefly glance at Braska before shifting away.
âShe wasâŚâ Well, shit.Somewhere in his mind, he could rationalize it all away, not think about it,not worry about the facts of what they were and what they werenât. But sayingit out loud? Kinda snaps it into perspective a bit. He wonât shy away from it,he wants to tell Braska everything, but it takes a moment.
âShe was a fan of mine,â he finally admits, sounding almostdefeated at the admission. âYâknow, big Abes fan, always in the stands screaminâmy name, went to damn near every game. She couldâve just been another fan, but shecaught my attention. Not the first one to do so, mind you.â Not that Jecht hada lot of partners or people heâd sleep with, but it was a decent handful ofwomen. Fewer than most might think, but more than many might hope. âBut she wastenacious and determined, anâ passionate to a fault.
âWeâd stay up all night talkinâ aboutâŚdamn near anything. When something caught her attention, she could go on for hours about it, inthis way where it didnâ get boring. Her eyes would light up and sheâd talk alittle fasterâŚâ
He trails off and settles into silence for a time. He knewher well, could recall still the sound of her voice and the look she would givehim when she was excited about something new. But no matter how he talked abouther, he didnât smile fondly at the memories. What he said were facts. She waspassionate, she was excitable, he genuinely enjoyed their conversations. Butthe fact is-
âI didnâ love her. That sounds shitty, doesnâ it? I wasnât in love with her. Truth isâŚâ Anotherpause, and he presses his palm to the back of his neck, digs fingertips intothe muscles there. âI knocked her up. We got married to save face andreputation.â At the time, thatâs what had mattered more to him: his reputation. What would the media and the fans think if he knocked up a fan? What if he didnâttake responsibility? A good scandal could do wonders for a Blitzball career inZanarkand, but Jecht wasnât willing to risk it in case this was the scandalthat ruined him.
âAndâŚI wasnâ a good dad, and she wasnâ a good mom. We triedat first. IâŚI love my kid. Cutest damn kid Iâd ever seen, and that ainât justvanity talkinâ. Bluest eyes, blondest hair, and sweetest laugh you can imagine.Heâd grab my hair when I held âim, sometimes hide his face in it when he gotscared.â His smile finally reaches his eyes, though itâs melancholy, filledwith regret. âBut shit got hard, and when I stopped caring, wellâŚso did she.Our kid suffered because of it. And I let it happen. Sâlong as I had herattention and a bottle of booze, I could drown out the world.â His words catchand it takes a second for him to continue. When he does, his voice is low. âAndhis crying.â
He could use a drink right then, but his flask is gone andheâs been clean of any booze for longer than heâd been in years. Still, hismouth parches with want, fingers curl into his palm and then flex back out.
âI donâ know what happened after I got here. I hope shestarted taking better care of him than we did before. Maybe theyâre doinâbetter now without me there.â He can only hope. Without knowing for sure, itâsall he has.
@summoners-path âBuild me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid, one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â ~*Douglas MacArthur*~
As far as Rivasys was concerned, the Restoration Committee thought she was in Twilight Town. Well except for Mari, but she had enough faith in her friend that she would trust her judgment, and knew that if she needed anything Mari was a message away. Hopefully it wouldnât come to that. Ri knew deep in her bones that this was something she needed to do, to right the wrongs that had happened because of her judgments. It may not be something Merlin would be willing to permit, if he found out the exact location she was really in. But she was beyond those worries to turn back now. The legends of this world were thankfully well known, but unfortunately sporadic at best and vague at worst. They all pointed to the misty and damp tunnels that laid below the brightly shinning Colosseum of heroes. It seemed only fitting that the final resting place of most heroes was directly below their battleground.
Ri pushed her hair out of her face, a nervous feeling settling in her chest as she smelled the stale air that hung in the surprisingly spacious caverns. A few coins jingled in her pouch at her waist, a recommended payment some warned for the ferry man. Enough to get across the river, but hopefully also for two to get back. The stories spoke of demon dogs, and hellfire. Some praised a child like queen who ruled the throne, bringing winter and spring into the world with her visits. Others spoke of different levels of damnation you could be cast into depending on your heaviest sins weighing on your soul. The stories changed in each world Rivasys found. Scenery painted of an afterlife to guide you to the next, or a reunion will all of your loved ones. It made Ri wonder about her own thoughts of death, and a feeling of homesickness for their priestesses in purple worshiping their beloved goddess came to mind. Rivasys quickly shoved the images away. An eerie lyric floated through the caverns, creating the atmosphere she was sure would follow her this journey. Before her was a fork in the road, the right leading to a large door that would most likely take her to this river; if there was one, and the left towards a large and demonic looking Colosseum. "Huh, they have one here as well..." She quietly mused to herself. Right it was then. She quickly found the door to be easier to open then she expected, and Rivasys prayed to anyone that would listen that that was not a metaphor or an omen to this journey.Â

Carbuncle was sat in a chair in this manâs home. He had invited her in and wasnât sure why but she knew she could trust him because she could sense the summon magic he used to have. It was odd that he didnât have it any more but maybe thatâs how it worked on this world. Once you used that magic you couldnât use it any more.Â
So tea was a drink, sounded nice. She could hear humor in his voice and relaxed a little more. Carbuncle saw the cup and pot on the table before them. She looked at him closely when he asked that question about having met to see of she had in her Eidolon form.
âI donât believe we have meet. I donât recall meeting you and Iâm rather good with faces. Do you know me?â

7, 9, 11!
7. Biggest turn off(s).
Sexually? Probably myself. I get so caught up in like a 3rd-personal existential crisis when I try anything different that I kinda of freeze up and quickly lose the mood (gonnaâ try to kick this to the curb when the SO moves in next month). Iâm also not big on violence (in regards to myself) like choking, slapping, cutting, the like.
Otherwise? I canât stand people who donât use logic to come to their decisions (#likehalfofthisgoddamncountry). Scraping noises like flip-flops dragging over concrete, plastic containers scraping over cardboard, and fingernails on a chalkboard also make me want to exit my body because there is a SUPER PHYSICAL sensation that accompanies them for me and it feels AWFUL.
9. Tattoos I want.
I think machina-queen beat you to it! Lol See my other post. :)
11. Age.
22 going on 23 in May. - cries because Iâm still working 2 retail jobs and havenât found a job related to her degree yet -
