His hands made little helpless grasping gesticulations in the air on either side of her hips before finding purchase there, and–

–that speech he’d given Rose, once, long ago, about being able to feel the turn of planets under his feet, of knowing how fast the world orbited the Sun and the Sun orbited the heart of Mutter’s Spiral The Milky Way and how fast the galaxy hurtled through The Universe–

–all of that spinning whirling hurtling, oh, it just stopped, The Earth stopped–

–the Sun stopped–

–the galaxy spiraled to a halt–

–she tasted of–

–and she was warm like–

–and when he could breathe again, respiratory bypass system thoroughly bypassed, he touched his forehead to hers and he laughed a trembling laugh.

“Oh. Right then. What was I saying? No idea, not important.”

“…” He gets a glare. He would’ve got (and kept) one of those megawatt smiles if he hadn’t gone and brought Mickey and bloody football into it.

“Wha’? I love you!”

Ah. That’s an easy question. He'd dreaded she’d askif he went commando or something. Not that he did!

“A place, Rose? Singular? D’you really think, after New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York, that such a culture-rooted name would just be used for one place--especially one culture that inspires the names of how humans name the stars? There’s an Olympus constellation, three Olympus planets, eight Olympus satellites, twenty four Olympus highways, seven hundred and eighty three Olympus cities and towns, and quite possibly dozens of Olympus diners. Probably even a chippy.”

“...But, yes, we could go to the god’s pantheon. Although, if you ask me, they’re more puny than gods... Always getting in trouble for Zeus’... well... flings.”
