cansu or lapen?
who would my muse rather kiss: send two names
Lapen is a good cuddler. And he’s also good for giving sweet little affectionate platonic kisses to.
But when Tess kisses Cansu, there’s something frightening and exhilarating there. It feels like a dare every time, and she’s eager to call Cansu’s bluff. Everyone plays with matches from time to time, and Tess doesn’t mind how it singes her lips.
“You know,” Tess propped her basket on her hip, cocking her head to one side as if it made the mage easier to understand, “one of our sentries mentioned seeing a human woman out here. But I never would've guessed it’d be you.”
The Veil slid off her skin, peeling from her shoulders like a heavy cloak. But rather than collapsing into a puddle at her feet, it rippled and danced away like fine spider silk.
Her laundry sat dripping in the basket, still sodden and heavy after a good washing in the nearby ravine. It was her annual tradition to wash her clothes in the frigid water on the first day of spring. Aside from being the best way to handle stubborn bloodstains, it kept her uniforms smelling cleaner longer and gave her some outlet for the sudden surge of energy the day brought. Spring was the beginning of the Seelie Court’s season, and it brought a renewed vigor to her step and danced over her skin like lightning.
“Happy Ostara,” she chirped, tucking a stray hair back into the short ponytail at the base of her skull. “I hope the equinox brings you some good luck and better weather.”

Tess had been pointedly ignoring Cansu since they’d come in from the rain. Well, maybe “ignoring” was too strong a word—she’d been redirecting her gaze from the human woman’s and keeping her at at least arm’s length, sometimes turning her back on the witch, entirely.
Cansu had been more forward than usual, and for a being as direct as Cansu, that was saying something. They’d always been comfortable around each other, flirtatious, even. But something inside Tess was feeling more… receptive that day, more persuadable. Something very old and very fae scratched at her thoughts whenever Cansu turned those dark eyes on her.
Determinedly preoccupied with the clasp of her cloak, she hadn’t heard Cansu move close until a warm hand closed around her chin. Startled, she locked eyes with her companion and froze. Had her lashes always been curled that way? Her hair was dripping down her neck—Gods, her mouth was pretty. This close, Tess began to think her lips looked soft, even though they usually curled into such a sardonic smile.
Heat bloomed in her face, or maybe it was Cansu’s hand? Oh, she was in danger.
And yet, she leaned in, drunk on the contact and closeness. “Yes?”
“Running off without an escort again, my lady?”

For someone from the mundane side of the Veil, Cansu was astonishingly good at appearing out of thin air and tracking down fae who knew well how to cover their tracks.
“Only if you were planning on letting me walk around unattended,” Tess quipped with a mildly exasperated smile. There was no shaking the mage; she’d gotten craftier since Tess’ ascendance, and—to Tess’ unspoken gratitude—more protective.
Ruling a fae court was trickier than Tess could have anticipated, and for all the perks she kept hearing about, not knowing who to trust was certainly the biggest drawback. The critical, brilliant witch had been one of the few she could rely on to see through the duplicity of the older, more experienced tricksters in the Seelie Court.
“Hurry, before I get away...”

💯 What is my muse’s ideal date?
An afternoon in the sun, keeping busy with something playful and fun (archery lessons, a bout of light swordfighting, etc.)—bonus points if there’s a bit of sexual tension or winking innuendo. Follow it up with an evening of sweet summer wine, long glances, and teeth brushed against her neck.
If she doesn’t shiver or think of death at least once, it’s not a good date.
The Mage and The Mute | DA:I verse
@theycallmekaibara @summersummoner
Sun warmed air whisked past the travelers as they trekked through the Fereldan countryside. Above them the sky was a wash of blue, broken only occasionally by thin clouds. The calm of the less traveled road and the idle talk of their companions almost made it possible to pretend the events of the last few days hadn’t happened. Almost.
Lapen stared at the ground ahead of him as he walked. His staff tapped against the well trodden soil in time with his steps. The words of the Chantry sisters and the declaration of the Lord Seeker still rattled about in his skull. Then there was the prospect of meeting the rebel mages in Redcliffe. They’d also picked up some other companions while in Val Royeaux. A Loyalist mage, Enchanter Vivienne, and then Sera of the Red Jennies. Now they were taking a detour off the Imperial Highway to investigate a village’s concerns about possible mages living in the woods nearby. The scout had mentioned that they had been living there for some time and part of him wondered if the Conclave’s explosion had caused the villagers to take these people’s want for peace and quiet as indication of mages hidden and waiting to ambush them while they slept. It was possible though the thought made him sigh in frustration.
