Charlie Burke was a Ravenclaw at Hogwarts. He was a simple Ravenclaw, very serious about his studies and anything school related. He had a playful side as well; his cousins would never let him live it down if he didnât have one. But there was something that set him apart from the others in his house. Even his housemates noticed that something was... off about him. Not off in a bad way, but strange. Mysterious. He was too wise for even the Ravenclaws to keep up most of the time. He knew things that only the professors should know, like a centaur getting to close to the school, or a bunch of students sneaking out after curfew to sneak into the forbidden forest. Charlie never said if he knew such things or not, but he never looked surprised when headmistress McGonagall would announce such things, and give a warning to never do it again, during breakfast. And he was always tired on days when she made those announcements, though fellow students suspected that it was due to staying up all night- studying. Charlie was seen reading a lot during the day.
Charlie had a secret that made him strange to others. A secret that has been passed down from his mother, adoptive mother, Zara Burke. During the day, he was a student. Just plain old Charlie Burke, wizard eager to learn. But at night, he was a dragon. The same dragon that could be seen through the windows as he circled around the school, watching for any invaders or students causing trouble. Like his mother once did, Charlie helped protect Hogwarts during the night. He kept the students inside when it was after curfew. But no one at Hogwarts knew that. No one expect for the professors, and his cousins (Melody and Roger Davies, and Blake Matthews). It was vital that he kept it a secret as well. He wasnât sure how his friends or classmates would handle the news if they found out.
Currently, Charlie was stumbling into green house for his herbology class with the Gryffindors, yawning as he gave Professor Longbottom an apologetic smile. He had a busy night, a group of first years decided to explore the grounds after hours. And when they saw the dragon flying towards them, to bring them back inside, they all decided to split up and run all over the place. It was annoying and tiring, but Charlie understood- in a way. They were excited and curious. He couldnât blame them. Grabbing his books from his bag, he quickly went to his usual spot in the green house as the professor went back to what he was saying before Charlie walked in. He sighed to himself as he flipped his book open to the page everyone else was on.
