Winter VS. Summer Cost to Ship a Car
Car transportation requires much more preparation; the most important thing is to transport it safely. The cost of car shipping depends on seasonal conditions; it's not easy to transport a car during winter. Extensive preparation is needed, including checking antifreeze levels, battery charging, detailing for salt protection, and installing winter tires. This winterization protects against snow/ice damage. Summer preparation is less intensive, including a fluid check, visual inspection, and cleaning. Enclosed shipping and added insurance may also be prudent to protect against weather threats – snow and salt in winter or excessive heat in summer. However, these precautions add $200-300 to the total shipment cost.
