[  ....  ]               justin  wasn't  exactly  paying  attention  to  where  he  was  going.  the  spiked  eggnog  had  gotten  to  him  more  than  he'd  like  to  admit,  but  despite  that,  he  was  still  having  a  great  time  at  this  christmas  party.  he  just  didn't  expect  to  bump  directly  into  @summerbelly.  his  shoulder  collides  with  hers  and  he  catches  his  drink  before  he  completely  spills  it  all  over  himself.  an  embarrassed  chuckle  escapes  his  lips,  his  cheeks  heating  up  a  rosy  pink,   ❝   geez,  i'm  sorry,  belly   ...   ❞   he  apologized,  clearing  his  throat.  he  looks  up  and  sees  exactly  where  they  were  standing   —   directly  under  a  mistletoe.  his  cheeks  illuminate  into  an  even  brighter  pink.   ❝   well,  this  is  awkward,  isn't  it   ?   ❞   he  states,  drinking  the  rest  of  his  drink  before  placing  the  glass  down.  maybe  it  was  the  alcohol  or  maybe  it  was  the  spirit  of  christmas  but,  either  way,  he  just  went  straight  in  for  the  kiss.  holding  her  face  in  his  palms,  he  presses  his  lips  tenderly  against  hers,  smiling  into  the  kiss.  he  lets  himself  linger  for  a  moment  before  pulling  back,  laughing  with  a  grin  that  was  unwavering,   ❝   sorry  if  that  was  ...  you  know,  straight  forward  or  whatever.  but,  isn't  it  bad  luck  if  we  don't  kiss  under  the  mistletoe   ?   ❞   he  said,  raising  one  inquisitive  eyebrow  with  a  smirk.

heavy bass thumps around them, the boneyard buzzing with laughter as people stumble through the sand, drinks in their hands and the smell of weed lingering in the air. it's one of the few places kooks and pogues can, usually, coexist in the name of the greater good (the greater good being getting smashed, obviously). still, that doesn't mean some of them don't put kiara on edge and she feels her feathers ruffle slightly as she brushes past a particularly obnoxious guy in a salmon polo and boat shoes. ew. "dude, where have you been?" she calls out, catching up with belly. "you missed pope's epic attempt at a keg stand. total fail but you gotta give him props for trying."
