So, in case you didn’t know. I make bracelets (and bookmarks) and sell them on etsy. My shop is called Summer of String since I learned how to make bracelets in camp and always loved how when summer came around I could just spend my days making them.

Tangent. Anyway I’ve been making my Cosima’s laptop bracelet while riding the subway. I started using a clipboard because it’s hard to safety pin bracelets to shorts. So it kind of makes a statement. People will watch me work while we ride the train and sometimes I stop and tell them what I’m doing or give out a business card. Sometimes people will talk to me and ask questions.

Point. Today a little old lady asked my what I was making and I told her that it was based of a tv show orphanblack and that I made the pattern myself, sell them online *hands business card*. Then she asks me how much they are and goes into her wallet she didn’t have the money but she was about to buy one right there on the train! I don’t even think she’s heard of the show. People just recognize that it’s DNA and think it’s cool.
