starbuck’s isn’t a place soojung likes to frequent often — the prices are a disaster on her wallet — but sometimes her palate from her junior high days in the states begs her for her past usual (a passion tea with strawberry in the hotter months and a kid’s hot chocolate in the colder months (the kid’s size is not only smaller but a little less hot)). with the rise of korean business, whether big like tom ‘n toms or small like the local cafés, this particular star buck’s doesn’t seem to get as many customers, so it’s fair game in her book. what’s not fair game, however, is the sudden arm that’s draped over her shoulders and the momentary heart attack it gives her. one look at the face of the voice’s owner brings a grin to her lips rather than a hit to his gut, and her arm finds her way around his waist to return the friendly hug. “well, shit, big-time sports star is gracing me with his presence,” she laughs lightly. “i hope that request was for the barista and not me.”
he doesn't think it'd be really her because never did she order coffee from the place, much more always reasoning for it to be unnecessarily expensive. ❝yeah, that's why you should treat me to a drink. maybe that chicken pesto sandwich too because i'm starved—❞ eyes linger for the quickest time on the display before sniffing a little as his gaze shifts to the menu. he usually got the usual from this place due to a) less people b) less people and c) less people. that equated to a) no lines b) no lines and c) no lines. that and the fact that he usually got less berated with people asking for pictures. but of course, he's only kidding with soojung, a sly smile plastered on his face. ❝what are you getting? i'll treat you today.❞
