Actually, if they included the scene in Selhorys I’m imagining that the same people who loudly proclaimed that Jaime would NEVER and it wasn’t rape in the books (and the people who said Dany wasn’t raped by Khal Drogo in the books) would talk about how Tyrion was the worst and the most misogynistic. I’m calling it because this is still what’s going to happen when we get to that part in the show and D&D leave it out and this fandom cries about whitewashing while conveniently ignoring every other male character’s shitty actions (including Jorah who also raped a sex slave in the book).

i think what makes cersei a unique char is that her pain is so inherently female but she lashes out in stereotypically masculine ways. kings are more likely to get her arc than queens.she's one of the most feminine looking women but wants to be a man

I don’t know if I agree. Her kind of manipulation is coded as feminine, if she was a king she would not have to murder her spouse and handle her son with gloves on. She uses sex unapologetically, but I don’t think that lack of apology is unseen in female characters. I can see that that lack of apology is demonized in female characters, but I don’t see that it is original (hence my bringing up precedents like fairy tale queens). And while I’m not sure if I think GRRM demonizes her for it, he is far from giving her his clear approval.

Maybe her rage comes across as masculine, but at this point we do have Lady Macbeth raging against her sex and all, you know? And I love Lady Macbeth and I’m not saying this negates anything really, I just don’t get how it’s rare. Maybe it’s not common enough, but the things that aren’t common enough about female villains, I don’t see GRRM doing those things. I see him being ultimately very familiar in his handling of Cersei. So I don’t get how Cersei is rare, even though I get how she is important.
