request prompt - home to you, sigrid
Saskia Donaghue and Sander Berge had been together for what seemed like forever and were quite honestly the couple which everyone destined to be. Sander was a footballer for Premier League side Sheffield United whilst Saskia was a patissier and loved to bake a lot, meaning a lot of her time was spent hiding away in the kitchen.
Times like these, Sander wished that for once that she would step out of the kitchen as he had something very special to ask, which he wanted to do in a special way which was going to prove hard. He had spent the last few weeks just trying to perfect the "Saskia, will you marry me?" part, never mind the rest of the act.
"Little present for you, you know to celebrate the win at the weekend!" Saskia chimed through into the living room, placing down a tray of a selection of her best bakes. "Take some into the boys for training, if you want."
"You seriously didn't have to go to all that trouble just for three points." Sander said, shaking his head, although he knew not to expect nothing less from his girlfriend. "But I'm sure the lads and I won't waste a crumb."
"Well, your just lucky that I love you." She laughed, before placing a kiss on his cheek. "Just don't start winning every game, I won't be able to keep up with the baking."
Normally Sander would've said something or laughed in reply to Saskia, but this time he looked deep in his thoughts, which slightly confused the patissier. All she could work out that there was definitely something playing on his mind.
"What's the matter? Something on you mind?"
"I was just thinking, I have a little present for you too." He finally spoke, with a small smile now appearing on his face. "You'll see just poking out of the cabinet, over there." He said, pointing over to the cabinet.
"There's no special occasion for it, plus I thought we were getting rid of the cabinet." Saskia furrowed her eyebrows in confusion at him. "I'm sure it can wait, can't it?"
"Well if you won't get it then I will." Sander got up and retrieved the small box from underneath the cabinet, before getting down on one knee. "Maybe now it's a special occasion? Saskia Donaghue, will you marry me?"
"A million times, yes!" Saskia squealed in excitement as Sander slid the ring up on her ring finger, before the pair shared a quick peck and a long, warm embrace. "Maybe this is a special occasion after all."
"I bloody love you, Mrs Berge to be." The footballer chimed, realising how much easier it was now that he had popped the question. "That has a really nice ring to it." The newly engaged couple laughed in unison.
"I blimmin' love you too, Sander."
