When it happens you know almost immediately something special has occurred and it’s a memory that’ll be with you for some time. This big ol’ Freshwater Drum or as someone so aptly described it - an airplane hangar door - was our target species that showed up when we were catching nothing but Northern Pike and Walleye (further solidifying our hypothesis that the Drum Spring run had not yet begun in earnest).
