"Sahib Mera Aik Hai" by The Sketches
After working hard for a long period of almost nine years The Sketches released their debut album in February 2010 by the name of "Dastkari" meaning 'one's own creation' named out of love for what they had created. The album, that contains songs in Sindhi, Saraiki and Urdu, bursts with ballads, alternative rock, Sufi and folk. Sketches is not scared to experiment; their approach to combinations of different elements of music is simple: “We don’t have one genre,” Saif says, “Music is our genre.”

Skimming and soaking up melodies from Eastern Europe, Brazil, Ethiopia, Morocco, and Asia, and allowing them to coalesce with her own rural traditions, Uzuri drives her musical journey forward with her recently released acoustic album- ‘The Gypsy Diaries’.

Comments: Well, today I'm gonna introduce my latest musical fascination: Turkrock. I've been semi-obsessed with it for the last week or so. Besides the fact that I am personally part Turkish, but really, there is actually some awesome stuff in this scene. I realize that I posted a Turkish artist last week, but whatever, it's good stuff too. Anyway, this band is absurdly kick-ass. I have a stubborn love for nu-metal, particularly from other countries where it didn't sound as commercial as it eventually sounded here. Manga has great vocals, some pretty cool rapping, the usual nu-metal sound, but with the awesome addition of Sufi musical influences. It's fantastic stuff and I only lament that they only have two albums currently.
