#sueding

When people complain about their dolls posing like trash and blaming the company it makes me shake my head. I had someone tell me I bought a large paperweight when I got a s0om ID75 boy. When he got here, they were right. He didn't hold a pose very well and couldn't look up. I took him apart, gave him traditional sueding and some new string and he stands and poses like a dream. Seriously, I have many company types...like MANY...and they all do well with a bit of suede and new string. And if you complain to me here you don't know how to do it....seriously? Here's instructions for those too lazy to look it up. Buy suede...take doll apart...cut pieces in the shape of the area where the joints / pieces fit together. Glue the suede in shiny / smooth side down. Let dry. Put your doll together. I stg people just don't want to try. This is a hobby where it is WAITING and WORK. True, you can pay someone to do it for you, but half the joy for me is working with my dolls. (I'm not including differently abled people who literally can not do these things, either, so don't come for me.)

Buying a doll with hot glue sueding is like playing russian roulette with half the chambers loaded: you either get the easy to remove hot glue that comes out in chunks or you get satan's jizz that won't come off no matter how hard you scrub it with alcohol or how long you freeze it in the freezer. It's just there. Forever. Judging you for your failures.

Would you recommend sueding with leather? I've seen porcelain dolls have that and wonder if it would be as good, if not better than just using hot glue? And what side of/what type of leather you would use?

I got myself my first minifee recently and... how do you even go about sueding their hip joints? I tried hot glue, and they kept sticking to the thigh. I tried acrylic thinner+matt varnish, and they were sticking even worse even after I gave them three days to dry. I tried using suede, and they were even more slippery than the resin itself. Do you guys know any other method because I'm going insane.

I can see why people who spent 900+ on a doll want it perfect. However, if your doll was less expensive and poses badly (though all the joints seem well-fitting) try sueding. Wiring is for badly-engineered ones. However, even a well-engineered doll may simply have an overly smooth resin and, thus, have kicky joints, etc. I have literally just sueded a doll (technically, glued some cotton fabric scraps cut to fit the shape) and now she poses like GOLD. From a kicky, no-stander she's freaking fab!

Why did I take so long to buy a hot glue gun? Now I love my L3ekeworld Chloe again. Next I'm coming for the rest of my kicky little fucks.
