Ari Cowen hated his monkey suit. It was Hugo Boss, inky black and in a classic cut. It emphasized the harsher lines to his face, made him look even more severe than usual. He hated how restraining it was— a buttoned collar and tie choked and the cuffs secured with priceless cufflinks felt far too tight. He looked respectable to any untrained eye, but his mounting irritation was reaching a nearly critical volume. He’d been set up with a sweet blonde Trevor didn’t have the guts to fuck with. She was gorgeous, definitely his type, but he didn’t know much about her beyond her name being a fabric and her mother was in charge of the event. All in all, a molotov of a combination when it came to Ari’s tendency to miss sensitive social cues. Trev told him to show up early for a meet and greet with Suede’s parents, but he wasn’t one for kissing rings. He lingered long after the other boys left with their dates, finally climbing into the Hellcat and making his way over to the party after he was certain all simpering small talk and introductions had wound down.
