Members of the Such Stuff cast enter the space for the first time on Monday January 11th.
First bit of The Drowned Man set to make it into the Such Stuff props box...fairly sure it won't be the last. How apt that it's from The Foley Props Room.
Speak not to me
In the midst of all the audition fun last night we asked someone to perform the introduction speech to us (our lift speech, if you will). For the first time.
Not even I've read it out loud, and I wrote it. As the piece ended and the character started to lead us all off into the 90 minute immersive adventure we have barely begun creating, @priceyc and I followed the actor off almost expecting the play to start. At which point we started leaping abut and going 'I WANT TO SEE THIS!'
I think it's going to be a good show.
So...if you're London based and have always wanted to give something like this a go...

It is with immense pleasure that I announce my involvement in Such Stuff As Dreams Are Made On, an immersive adventure through Shakespeare's last play, The Tempest. It will be performed in an unused building in central London in April 2016 around the 400 anniversary of Shakespeare's death. Dates tbc. It will definitely be fully immersive, not 'promenade plus'!! I will be adapting the play and co-directing the piece, priceyc will be my other co-director and tens of people from the London immersive theatre community will be helping out. It is an amateur production, but as a result the scale of what we can achieve is actually less restrictive than the smaller professional productions as we have fantastic resources in rehearsal rooms and workshop space and prop stores and a huge support network in the company we are producing this for.
