A savory and slightly spicy barbecue rub that enhances the flavor of brisket, creating a mouthwatering crust and juicy interior. The combination of brown sugar, salt, and a blend of aromatic spices makes this rub a top choice for barbecue enthusiasts.
Ingredients: 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup coarse salt. 1/4 cup black pepper, freshly ground. 2 tablespoons paprika. 2 tablespoons garlic powder. 2 tablespoons onion powder. 1 tablespoon chili powder. 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper. 1 tablespoon ground cumin. 1 tablespoon dried oregano.
Instructions: In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, coarse salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, ground cumin, and dried oregano. Ensure the rub is well combined, breaking up any lumps. Apply the rub generously to the brisket, covering all sides and edges. Allow the seasoned brisket to sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to penetrate the meat. Preheat your smoker to 225F 107C. Place the brisket in the smoker, fat side up, and smoke until the internal temperature reaches 195-203F 91-95C. During the smoking process, mop the brisket occasionally with a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water 1:1 ratio. Once the brisket reaches the desired temperature, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite barbecue sauce, if desired. Enjoy your perfectly smoked brisket with the Best Odds Brisket Rub!
