There will come soft rains. When the earth has frozen, and mankind is gone, the rains will begin. The tides will rise as they must. Life will return as it always has. And Zayne will relish the day he no longer has to feed off of the desire that humankind kills this planet with.
He's been fixated on a man, which wasn't unusual per se. He wasn't picky with his meals. Desire was desire was desire. But this man… no, this man was unusual.
He had encountered celibacy before. Never something he had a problem breaking down relatively quickly. But he had spent a year and a half watching this man. Waiting for the opportunity to strike.
You see, the man had a woman. Well… not quite. The man had a woman long ago, and in the eons since they had been together, the man had dedicated himself to finding her, and to chaos. Not so unlike Zayne. Though Zayne preferred… a quieter place of business.
The man had searched galaxies to find her. Entire planets to find his lost love. And when Zayne had come across the man, he had felt the desire leaking from his very soul.
To yearn was to be a target. And Zayne was nothing if not a hunter.
