The Priest gig at Subkult went easily to my top 3 gigs ever, and by far the best Priest gig I’ve seen so far! Hearing Virus and seeing the keytar master at work was an added bonus for sure, but I was so happy from the very beginning that I barely took any photos, I smiled until my face felt like splitting, danced through the whole set and I actually bruised my hand applauding. And then the new song Neuromancer! I’m pretty sure halfway through it my jaw hit the ground and stayed there until the end, and I can’t wait to hear this song again! These guys are the best, and I can’t wait to see them again in Germany next month! ❤️
I'm back home after @subkultfestivalen and I had an amazing time. It was everything a festival should be 🖤 I'm too tired for a proper summary, but here are some memories I will keep after this weekend: drinking lukewarm beer by the river while people dive into the cold water to cool down from the scorching heat, jamming out to Orup, Tomas Ledin and Tommy Nilsson anywhere it was possible, seeing so many cute dogs and trying to guess their breeds, dancing my butt off to the 69 eyes even though I had a blister the size of Texas on the sole of my foot, eating potato salad with a toothbrush because no spoons, walking several miles to my hotel at 5 am because I made the questionable decision to sleep at the campsite, and all the good shows I saw. Priest @ Subkultfestivalen, Trollhättan
I’m still on my way home but since I have time I’ll write this little recap my trip.
I left from home on Friday afternoon and met my friend at the airport. We had quite a trip. We almost missed our connection flight but we made it to Gothenburg like planned after all. Our host was cute cat so everything was pretty good. After short and crappy sleep we woke up way too early on Saturday morning. We had plenty of time to get ready before our train departure. We took train to Trollhättan and checked in the hotel. After power nap we headed to festival. For our surprise we got VIP wristbands but we didn’t really knew what we would achieve with them so we hang around and waited Priest to play. Time went by rather fast after all. I guess that’s what happens when you’re having fun and you have good company?
The show. It was amazing. After all that waiting until midnight, rain and cold wind it was so much worth it. Yet another incredible show from Priest. Start of the set was good old The Pit, Populist... you know the drill. Then the amazingness started happening. Finally Virus was played live featuring legendary Airghoul. I don’t have words. It was so amazing! We also heard new song probably? It sounded like Priest and it was so good! Can’t wait to hear it again. I danced the whole show (which I never do) and enjoyed every moment of it.
The band was amazing. They sounded amazing and looked amazing. Like always. All I can ask is... can I go to see them again already?
Yesterday was one of those nights I will remembering long time after this. I had really good time in good company. Trollhättan, and especially Subkultfestivalen treated me well. Now I’m heading back to Finland. Thank you for my traveling companion @blackheartheroine. I had really good time!
Sadly this year I won't have my Cell of Visions stall at the Subkult festival due to lack of finance, transport, time, etc. So hopefully I'll be back next year.
